Earth Safe Finishes began over 20 years ago with a simple but powerful mission: to make creativity safe again.
Founded by a mother and daughter who shared a deep love for art and creating, their journey took an unexpected turn when the very products they relied on began causing allergic reactions and health concerns. What once brought joy had become a barrier.
But they refused to give up.
Driven by determination and care for their health—and the health of others—they set out to find a better way. Their search led them to one of the country’s leading chemists, a pioneer who shared their commitment to environmental responsibility and human safety. Together, they developed the first line of Earth Safe Finishes products.
It was a breakthrough.
For the first time, artists, families, and makers who were sensitive to traditional paints and finishes could return to their passions—without fear, without compromise.
Over the years, Earth Safe Finishes has continued to evolve, embracing innovation and advancing safety standards. Today, our products are built on biobased and plant-based ingredients, reflecting our ongoing commitment to both people and the planet.
